Drawing from a lifetime of martial arts, philosophy, and personal reflection, Mike Stone shares seven profound questions that guide the search for meaning, purpose, and self-mastery.

The Seven Questions of Our Humanity
By Mike Stone
Mike Stone has synthesized a lifetime of experience, from the brutal honesty of the tournament floor to the creative expression of filmmaking and the quiet contemplation of writing, into his role as a philosopher and wellness mentor.
His teachings have evolved from mastering an opponent to mastering the self.
He challenges people to move beyond the physical and to cultivate the inner attributes that define a true master: humility, compassion, courage, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth.
The Seven Questions of Life
There are seven fundamental questions in life that everyone seeks to answer. In my search for those secrets, to be the best version of myself, this is what I’ve found: my answers to the seven questions to unlock the mystery of my existence, here and now.
I would be remiss if I did not make this vital distinction. The first four questions and their answers concern our spiritual creation; the nonphysical realm of our origin, which operates through frequencies vastly different from those that define the reality we experience.
The remaining three questions, on the other hand, pertain to life after our physical birth into the world of relativity.
It is essential to distinguish between your spiritual creation and your birth into physical reality, for these represent different energies. These are worlds apart in their vibrational frequencies, and therefore, in their realities.
Humanity
The Agreements Between Spirit, Mind, and Body
1. The Spirit — Your Eternal Observer
- Remains non-physical throughout your life.
- Agrees to accompany you silently as a witness.
- Never interferes or influences your decisions, even if you choose to end your life.
- Its role is to observe and honor your free will to choose your experiences without judgment.
2. The Mind — Your Creative Power
- Agrees to forget that it was created from love and light. This forgetting grants a person complete freedom to choose their experiences without bias.
- The mind can adopt and reshape identities, personalities, beliefs, and character traits at will.
- It holds the power to change its choices at any time, for any reason or no reason at all.
- The primary responsibility of the mind is to maintain the quality of all the systems of the mind and body. This point of responsibility cannot be stressed strongly and often enough.
3. The Body
- Serves as the physical tool through which the mind expresses its desires and choices.
- Its health and performance depend on how well the mind cares for it.
- The body will respond as commanded, but it is the mind’s responsibility to maintain its quality and vitality.
The Two Gifts You Receive at Birth
A source of love and light created you and because your Creator is love and light, so are you. That said, your Creator knew that simply being told you are perfect, whole, and created of light would never be enough.
So, the heavens and the earth were created, not as a test or punishment, but as a vast field where you could experience yourself as love and light through your two greatest gifts: life, and the free will to choose your earthly experiences.
During the transition, your spiritual essence separates into three distinct aspects, making up your overall humanity:
- Spirit
- Mind
- Body
Each of these aspects enters into sacred agreements before your birth, shaping the foundation of your human life.
Question 4: Why Am I Here?
I am here to experience the gifts of life and free will and through those experiences, decide who I am and who I aspire to become.
Question 5: What Is the Meaning of Life?
Life has no inherent, preordained meaning. However, you can give your life meaning through the choices you make and the experiences you create.
You are the creator of your reality. To deny this truth is to reject both the responsibility and the opportunity that come with being alive.
If you are not choosing your life, then who is?
Question 6: What Is My Purpose for Existing at This Time?
Like the meaning of life, your purpose is not pre-written.
You don’t need to wait for a sign from the Creator. You were created in His image, and you were given the sacred gifts of life and free will. To shape your reality, isn’t that enough?
People with far less have done far more.
Your purpose is ever evolving. As you grow, change, and develop, so too does your vision of who you can become. Once you reach what you believe to be the best version of yourself, a new and greater vision will arise.
Your spirit is constantly expanding its sense of self.
Your purpose is to fulfill your grandest glory.
Your purpose is to become your highest self.
Your purpose is to be your best, always.
So, we’ve looked the six questions squarely in the eye, and in doing so, discovered that they’re not as foreboding and intimidating as one might have thought.
Now comes
“The Big Question.”
Life and Free Will
When you enter the physical world, you are given two divine gifts:
- Life
- Free Will
With these, you are free to shape your choices, experiences, relationships, and outcomes.
But with this freedom comes a sacred responsibility. Every choice leads to a result, an outcome, and a consequence.
The secret to living a life of love and light lies in accepting
100% responsibility for those consequences.
The Soul’s Gentle Reminder
You will not remember making these agreements at birth. However, life will remind you, through every decision, every experience, every relationship, and their outcomes.
Your answers will not be revealed through memory, but through the consequences of your choices.
Do not become so fixated on your physical existence that you forget the other two aspects of your being, your mind and your spirit.
True fulfillment comes from honoring all three.
Once born into the physical world, the energy and focus have dramatically shifted; you may find your focused attention and intention are fixated on your external, material wants and needs.
Let this be a warning.
Question 1: Who Am I?
I am love and light.
A powerful, creative energy in the universe. You consist of the same energies that ignited the Big Bang and brought forth our universe; that is your potential power.
Question 2: Where Do I Come From?
The Realm of Absolute, non-physical energies.
A place of perfection, created as the offspring in the likeness and image of my Creator.
I inherited the same powers and abilities to create, and I will be given countless opportunities to develop my life and my own offspring, just as I am the offspring and spirit child of my Creator.
Question 3: What Happens During the Transition From My Spiritual Creation to My Birth in Physical Reality?
A dramatic downshift in vibrational frequency occurs.
You move from your most powerful, creative, non-physical state into a slower, lower, denser vibrational frequency.
This shift allows you to experience physical reality and make choices within it.
Question 7: What’s In It for Me?
That’s a fair question.
What’s in it for you is the opportunity to live your best life.
What’s in it for you?
A chance to experience abundance in the way your Creator intended.
Do you believe all of this is an accident?
There are no accidents in the universe; only people create accidents.
It’s time we prevent more of them.
Those treasures can be yours by genuinely embracing the tenets outlined in this work and accessing the Universal Trust, which can empower you with the Power of Attraction.
I received the blessing of abundance.
It is interesting, for once abundance is bestowed upon you, a deeper realization dawns that an even more cherished state of being beckons, that of being in service to your fellow man.
Observation, Recognition and the Quantum Nature of Being
Through observation and recognition, I’ve come to understand an idea that connects consciousness, spirituality, and the principles of quantum entanglement.
When I have an idea of myself, when I stop to think: Who am I? What am I doing?
The very act of believing that idea in the moment makes it real.
What allows that belief to manifest into reality is the spiritual aspect of my humanity, which is the essence that existed before I was born into this physical world.
At the moment of transition from spirit to form, something profound occurred.
My spiritual self agreed with my mind and body, the other two aspects of my human nature.
The agreement was twofold:
- The spirit would accompany the mind and body throughout life’s journey as an observer of their choices.
- The spirit would never interfere with any choice made while alive.
These two conditions form the foundation of my existence as a human being.
My spiritual self remained in the realm of the nonphysical, while my mind and body were born into the physical world of relativity.
For that to happen, I had to undergo a dramatic shift in vibrational frequency, from the pure energy of spirit to the dense vibration of matter.
Quantum Entanglement and the Human Experience
This, I believe, mirrors the principle of quantum entanglement.
In physics, two particles that have once interacted remain connected in such a way that the state of one instantaneously influences the state of the other, no matter the distance between them.
Likewise, my spirit and my physical being remain entangled, inseparably linked through energy and awareness.
My spirit observes my choices but never interferes.
Therefore, when I make a decision or form an idea of myself in the physical world, my soul instantly recognizes and observes that choice as truth.
That observation itself is the bridge that collapses potential into reality.
I don’t need external approval for my experience to be real.
The observation of my soul, the spiritual counterpart of my being, serves as the ultimate witness and validator of my creation.
When I choose something and that eternal awareness observes it, I instantly become that choice.
Reality crystallizes at the speed of thought because the act of observation by the soul permits it to exist.
The Creator Within
This explains why, in moments of deep conviction or insight, transformation can happen instantly.
We are, in essence, co-creators of our existence through the dynamic interaction between our physical, mental, and spiritual selves, three aspects that vibrate in different planes yet are harmonized through consciousness.
Socrates said it simply:
“Know thyself.”
To know oneself is to recognize this triune nature — spirit, mind and body — and to understand the agreement that binds them.
When we were first created as spiritual beings, we were made in the image and likeness of our Creator.
That likeness means we possess the same inherent power, energy, and creative capacity.
It is woven into our very being, as if encoded in our spiritual DNA.
But to truly experience that creative power, we needed a realm of relativity, a physical world where contrast allows recognition.
Thus, we entered this world.
The Creator allowed the spirit to take form so that it might experience its own creation, observe its choices, and come to know itself through the mirror of life.
Thus, the journey continues:
The soul observes.
The mind chooses.
The body experiences.
Through this sacred entanglement, we awaken to the truth of our being, not as mere observers of life, but as creators within it.
